A single question can expose the story running your life: “What do you want?” I share the moment I tried to prove the law of attraction was nonsense, only to have a tiny, specific desire show up so perfectly that I couldn’t ignore it. That night became the foundation of everything I teach about manifestation, mindset, and the kind of inner change that actually lasts.

We talk about why “thoughts create reality” is only the surface, and how the deeper driver is belief. I break down the chain that shapes your entire life, belief to thoughts to actions to results, and show how a core belief like “nothing ever works out for me” quietly manufactures proof everywhere you look. Then we flip it: what happens when you train your mind to trust, look for possibility, and assume life is working in your favor. Along the way, I share real examples from my early “LOA list,” from finding money in the lazy river to winning a massive Scooby-Doo prize through visualization, and why small wins can be the fastest way to rebuild self-trust.

If you’ve been taking more action and still feel stuck in dating, business, health, confidence, or money, this is your sign to go under the hood. I’ll give you prompts to spot your automatic thoughts, name the belief beneath them, and start rewiring from limitation into empowerment without blaming yourself for how you were programmed early on. If this lands, subscribe, share it with a friend who’s ready for a shift, and leave a review so more people can find the work.

Three Stories That Shaped Me

SPEAKER_00

This episode starts a three-part series about stories that shaped me into who I am today. Each story has a lesson intended to help my listeners, you as well. These are three critical stories of experiences and lessons in my life that have been key factors in me becoming a life coach whose mission is to help people create the lives they want, as well as the journey into intuition mastery and energy healing, so that I can help people on even more precise levels. I'm going to give you an overview first of each story and why each one is important, and then I will get into the first one. Story number one that you will hear today is uh something I discovered 17 years ago, but it is the foundation of everything I now teach. This story is how I learned about radical responsibility of the mind and how taking control of our mind can and will, and is the only thing that can give us what we want in life. We are powerful creators when we want to believe so. Story number two was not one of my most proud moments in life, but it was one of the most impactful moments of my life so far. It has many layers. Uh, it involves me waking up at 6 a.m. in the driver's seat of my car, in DC, the bad part, as they say, keys in the ignition, doors unlocked, drunk as hell. This story shows what happened, what can happen when we ignore our bodies' needs, and it also illustrates that when we are sabotaging ourselves, it opens the door for other people to do the same to us. This one is about my personal party girl rock bottom event that led to me literally being where I am today. It was my sick of my shit moment, my big fed up with you crystal event. But rock bottom doesn't mean the end of the world for us. It opens the door for the beginning of a new life because sometimes there really is nowhere to go but up. Story number three is about safety, confidence, and I mean inner safety and confidence and visibility, not the kind of visibility you hear. Well, I mean, yes, this, you know, not just the entrepreneur who puts work into the world and shares it visibility, but about safety in being visible, to have unique ways of living and thinking that might go against what the all-holy and mighty society promotes, aka tells you to believe, and still belong. So visibility and safety being a little different, but still belonging, and feeling confident enough to not self-abandon when you feel like a fish going the opposite way of the rest of the school of fish. That story number three takes place in an era you might remember, an era known as 2020, which happens to be one of the biggest growth eras of my life for many, many reasons, not only including this, and that is when I started my business, but I was also a brand new mommy. The next episodes will be dedicated to each of these stories. Here is story number one, episode number one of the series.

The Night The Secret Arrived

SPEAKER_00

Story number one is basically the foundation to my entire life as I know it now, which happens to be basically the entire opposite of how I knew life before the story. This story took place the day the book The Secret dropped into my life. I owe this life-changing event to one of my good friends back then at the end of high school and through college. Shout out to Tai Hung, but he went by Ben, so I will call him Ben, a freaking icon of a human. Shameless, fearless, bold as a mofo. I got into some trouble with him, a few different kinds of trouble, but the amount I learned and grew in just a few years catapulted me into being my own kind of fearless, bold human. And for all of it, I thank him. At this time, when I learned about The Secret, I he was either a freshman or sophomore in college. When we were hanging out with my, well, I was hanging out with my boyfriend, and we were hanging out with our friends, including Ben. I often went back to Olney in Maryland, where I spent the last two years of high school. I went back there on the weekends to see all of them while I went to college at George Mason in Virginia. And this was one of those weekends. We were hanging outside of the job we all shared a year or two back at one of the first froyo shops in the country called Yogi Berry. It was second to Pink Berry, and this was back when the shop employees would actually make the froyo behind the counter, and then the customers would tell us like which flavor do they want, how much do they want, and which toppings. And it's really cute because my daughter loves fro yo, particularly sweet frog. Like in my mind, there's no other froyo shop. And she thinks it is so cool that her mom had a job at one of the first ever froyo shops. So we were hanging out at night, and Ben was just soaring with energy as he often did. Uh, he was even doing his push-ups and sit-ups on the sidewalk as part of his eight-minute abs day daily routine, and he was so excited to tell us about this book that someone he randomly met shared with him called The Secret. The message of the secret, if you are unfamiliar, has to do with the law of attraction and that our thoughts attract things in our life for better or worse. This was a time in my life when I was usually more on the negative side of thinking, so I was quite skeptical, uh, you can imagine, of this book and assumed it was a big load of crap. But Ben wanted so badly for me to believe, and I get it now. I have had similar conversations with people in my life about the concept that our thoughts create our reality, aka we create our reality, and I so badly want for them to see it too, because of how much it opens things up when we can believe that. We are powerful creators, we just have to believe it first. And there's actually a little more depth to it than just our thoughts, because it all stems from our belief systems, but for now I will talk about the thought aspect. And the thought aspect was really all I needed for that life change back then to go from chronic complainer and woe is me to insanely fast manus manifestor and optimist slash positive thinker. Completely changed everything about my life. Ben wanted me to believe that night, and I did not want to believe. So he said, What do you want? And I thought about it

The Puppy That Made Me Believe

SPEAKER_00

for a moment, trying to conjure up a want that I knew he could not deliver on, just so that I could have the satisfaction of proving hit to him that the secret was garbage. I want to see a puppy tonight. I was so certain that our plans were set for the night, considering all of us were hanging out and had no intention of adding anybody else to the mix, and that soon we would be at our final destination, our friend Chris's house, and neither Chris nor any of us had a puppy. Ben said nothing. And I know now that is because he was full of trust, which is a key component of the secret. We can have positive thoughts of our desires, but if we don't trust that what we want is already ours, then we do not believe. And if we do not believe, we usually go lacking. Some big, big lessons there, and again, this is the foundation of what I teach when it comes to creating or manifesting, as they say, the life that we want, which is in a nutshell exactly how I help people today. So we got to Chris's house, we were all outside, probably smoking something, when Ben got a call from a friend. He told him where we were and that he could come by. And guess who comes by with Ben's friend? A puppy. I was so mind-blown and so excited, and I was in full belief of Ben's new obsession. You might think, well, all he had to do was think of someone he knows with a puppy and tell them to come by, and then you'd be convinced. I don't actually think that is what happened. I never asked him, but that's the thing. When you put a desire into the universe, you aren't supposed to plan all of the how. The universe moves for you. It is the universe's job to deliver, and the universe used Ben and his friend to deliver to me, not only seeing a puppy that night, but a foundational teaching that has shaped the course of my entire career and life. Despite me not believing that I'd see a puppy within even two hours, the universe moved for me. My higher self planned for that entire situation to happen because my higher self knew I needed to open the doors to a spiritual life to be on path. So she used the secret as that door. And it was highly effective.

Fast Manifestations And The LOA List

SPEAKER_00

What happened after that, after I was in full belief, which literally took a puppy, was miraculous. Ben and our group of friends called our manifestations Loa's L-O-A-S, Loa's after the law of attraction. And I was starting to manifest things at insane rates. So I tore out a line piece of notebook paper and folded it and kept it in my personal copy of The Secret, and I carried that thing, that book, everywhere I went. On the piece of paper, I wrote down everything I intentionally loaded that summer. The very long list included tickets or prizes from every radio station preset in my car, which I think was seven or eight. So that was its own specific loa was winning something from every preset. The coolest win was tickets to see my favorite band at the time, which I'd been utterly obsessed with since middle school. You may have heard of them, Green Day. I did love all of their old stuff, and Good Riddance was my favorite song since I ever heard it when I was like uh six years old. But I was a huge sucker for the American Idiot album. I could listen to that thing front and back every day, and I'm pretty sure I did. DC 101 was giving away tickets, and I will never forget sitting in the car with Ben and my boyfriend at the time when I dialed in and actually connected to the station's ringer instead of the beep, beep, beep when you have to hang up and try again. My heart was pounding, and I fucking won and Ben fucking freaked out for and with me, and it was very cool. Now I am still able to manifest things almost immediately. I mean, anytime I need a rubber band or a plastic baggie or something like that, it just shows up completely randomly in the most random places. I haven't cracked the code on massive manifestations, like you know, a million dollars yet, but smaller things. I am a wizard, and I have even been jokingly asked, I don't know if they were actually joking, by numerous friends over the years if I practiced black magic. One day last summer I decided I needed a stool for my candle studio, and I also needed a large plastic bin to put my cat's extra food in. Later that day, I was driving back roads in my town going to pick up fruits and veggies from the farm share I was a part of, and I passed a house with a few things at the end of the driveway that had a big free sign on them. A large container for pet food, even had the sticker on the front from the factory showing a cat and dog and a dog bowl on it, along with not one but two stools. And something else that I needed, which I decided the last time I was at the farm, and here I am, coincidentally on my way to the farm, a large basket for the produce because I was using reusable shopping bags and they were just getting filled with dirt every time I went, and yeah, it was just turning into a mess. So there with the stools and food container was a beautiful wicker basket, exactly actually better than what I imagined for the food. Things like this are quite normal, and this gift was well normal for me, and it can be normal for you too, if it isn't already. But this gift was only unlocked after I dove into the secret. Just because they're super fun, I'm going to share two more Loas with you from that summer to give you an image, well, a visual illustration of how my life works out quite often. These were two big Loas in that summer that I was learning how powerful I was, and I think they will be very fun for you to hear. So the first

Money In The Lazy River

SPEAKER_00

is how I acquired my copy of The Secret, because I had only seen Ben's, and then we watched the movie, and I was like, Yeah, I definitely need my own little law of attraction Bible here. So I was we were at a water park one weekend in a way that I often like at the beginning when you're learning to manifest things, a lot of people use money. So all of the time I would be like, Alright, I'm gonna find money this weekend, or I'm gonna find money today, and it would happen every time, every time. So I was teaching this exciting new concept of law of attraction and the secret to my stepmom Cindy, and we were in the lazy river at this water park, so we each were on our own little tube, and we were going around and around, and it's just a big circle of water, and she was in a bit of disbelief, you know. She was saying, like, and I completely understand this, you know, Jesus provides everything about like stuff like that. And I was trying to show her, like, yes, you know, you can use your faith, but what about you? You know, you are a powerful creator as well. And I told her that I would so I was like, here's proof, you know. I told myself I would find money this weekend, and I found a quarter at our chairs on the volleyball. There was a volleyball court right in front of our little chairs where we were hanging out at the water park, and there was a quarter, so I was like, sweet, I found my money. So she's kind of like, Yeah, yeah, okay, whatever. So we are at the place where we are exiting the lazy river and we're putting our tubes back up and then to hop out, and I felt something around my ankles, and I looked down, and there was a five-dollar bill around one of my ankles, and a five-dollar bill around the other ankle. And I showed her, I was like, see, look, we're like in the lazy river, and I'm holding them up. I was like, told you I'd find money. So then she goes stunned, like, hmm, okay, you want the book? I will buy the book for you if it is on sale. So I was like, this is wild. Okay, so we left the water park and there was a borders, rest in peace, borders. I don't think those are around anymore. There was a borders on the way home. She was like, if it's on the way home, you know, we're not gonna go super out of our way. There was a borders on the way home. We go, and she said, if it is on sale for you, I will buy the book. So we're looking, looking. They told us the the area that it was supposed to be in, and I could not find it. And I was like, it's just something in me, I was like, There's a copy here somewhere. So I went to a whole different section of the borders, went just was guided, I guess intuitively, to the bottom section, and I found one copy of The Secret, completely random place, and on the upper left corner was a 25% off sticker. So she bought it for me, and I was very happy.

Winning Scooby-Doo With Visualization

SPEAKER_00

The second story is about my little sister. So um, my little sister Cindy is my stepmom, the lady I just mentioned. So she and my dad had a daughter, Charlotte. So this is about her. Later that summer, we were all at King's Dominion, and we were about to get lunch, and we went to amusement parks a lot of the time, but we never ever played the games. Like my parents were like, We'll take you to the park, but you know, don't ask us for a bunch of money to to try and win, you know, crappy prizes. So the games were not a thing we'd ever done, and for the first time ever, they were like, All right, after lunch, you can each play one game. Like, it's like we'll give you each five dollars for a game. So we're passing this one little um game stand on the way into the cafeteria, and Charlotte saw they had the big, big prizes. One of them was a massive Scooby-Doo that was like the ultimate prize, and it was one of those games where it is wine bottles, a bunch of wine bottles, and the the lip of each bottle is painted a different color. So there's you know, a bunch of black ones, a bunch of blue ones, and then not a bunch of blue ones, but like uh you know, less blue ones, and then like five red ones, very few red ones. So she really wanted this Scooby-Doo, and I said to the lady, so we'd all decided, okay, we're all gonna play this game after lunch. So before we went to lunch, I said to the lady who was running the stand, how many of those um big prizes do people win a day? Like how many are one? And she goes, Mm, 13, about 13. I said, All right, we're gonna be number 14. So we go into lunch, and Charlotte is so excited about this Scooby-Doo. So I'm like, okay, and she was young, so I was probably 20. So she was about somewhere around 14, 15 years old. And no, younger. She was younger than that. I was younger. Okay, sorry, she was like 12 or 13. So I am explaining to her this new concept that was blowing my mind, the law of attraction, and I ran through her the whole time we're eating lunch. So I ran through her going visually with this Scooby-Doo out of the park. So I had her imagine playing the game, I had her imagine winning the game, I had her connecting to her feelings and the excitement of winning the game, seeing the ring go around the red bottle, um, and then having seeing every step of it, the lady taking the Scooby-Doo down. And I said, now imagine um you are walking out of the park and you've got that Scooby-Doo around your shoulders. Like, what does it feel like? How do you feel? Just the whole thing. So we go and play the game, and we each five dollars for I don't know, five rings, I think. So we each go through all of our rings, and nobody won. My dad was like, you know, I'm gonna play one more time. So he gets another round of five rings just for himself, and we're all we're all watching.

Beliefs Create Results And Identity

SPEAKER_00

He goes, one, two, three. He's throwing the fourth one. Charlotte comes over, snatches it out of his hand. He gets momentarily upset, like, what the hell are you doing? She freaking throws it and lands it on a red bottle. I was like, that's my sister. We walked out of that park with a damn large ass Scooby Doo. Our ability to have positive leaning thoughts and optimism can open doors that we aren't even aware that we want to open. Before learning the secret, I was a heavy complainer. I chose for whatever reason that things just never worked out for me. And I was this way for as long as I can remember until that magical night with a puppy. And seeing how once I started lowing like crazy, I wanted to share that information with everybody who would listen. I saw myself giving free talks at the community center, and I remember excitedly telling Ben one day we were hanging out, I was like, we should put up flyers, we should rent our community center space. I was like, you know, it's like part of me knew how this works inside. I was like, there's gonna be very few people at the beginning, maybe nobody, but we just have to keep going and it's gonna grow and grow and grow. And I just like had this huge desire to share this message because I knew how much it could change people's lives, not just winning Scooby-Doos and finding discounted books, but actually changing their lives, their health, their relationships, their finances, everything. And this was long before I ever even had the idea of a life coaching business in mind, long before I actually even got to a place in my life where I can literally see myself talking to large groups of people about similar teachings. So, fast forward from then about 10 years, and that is when I decided to officially open my business, the coaching business I have now, because I wanted to help people with their minds so that I could help them with their lives. I got certified to become a health coach, a life coach, and then after that, I took a subconscious rewiring training as well. And that is when I learned the big key under the thoughts create your reality idea. Your beliefs actually create your reality, which then pattern your automatic thoughts, which then lead you to take action, which then deliver your results. For example, let's play with the belief that nothing ever works out for me. Belief, nothing ever works out for me. Circumstance, I start a business, but the underlying belief is that nothing ever works out for me. So my thoughts will constantly focus on when things don't work out. A self fulfilling prophecy. And I hate to break it to new entrepreneurs and myself back then, but things often won't work out in business because we have a lot of lessons to learn from obstacles, and there will be a lot of redirection that comes from things not working out. Had my business worked out, Exactly how I wanted it. When I wanted it, I would be capped at making like 80k a year. Whereas now I found because things didn't work out for so long, it forced me to. I found my mentor, and now I am becoming a master at intuition and an energy healer. And oh my gosh, the money I can make from this, not because it's all about money, I am going to be able to help people in a very, very precise for them way, not just teach general concepts, but I'm going to help look into people's lives intuitively and just see exactly what they need and what can help them powerfully. But this would not have happened had things just worked out how I wanted. So obstacles and redirection, they are a beautiful thing, but they don't always feel good in the moment. From the belief that nothing ever works out, negative feelings will arise when things don't work out. Feelings which will stem from the negative thoughts because they are proving the underlying belief true. That is what the brain automatically does. It reinforces underlying beliefs with proof in our life. So we will take actions from a place of hopelessness and powerlessness, which doesn't do much for business growth or visibility or things working out. And PS, things are always working out. And when you can tap into the belief that things are always working in your favor, that life is always happening for you, not against you, then you will quickly be able to reframe situations to see the silver lining and everything and move and take action now from a place of empowerment rather than lack and frustration. And this will change your life. And it has changed mine more than anything else I have ever learned. It is our job, our duty for our lives and our duty for what we are supposed to do in the world to rewire our beliefs. First by objectively becoming aware of our automatic thought processes and taking radical responsibility for the results we have in our life that might not be exactly what we want. Results always prove belief. So if you want to change your results, you have to get serious about the thoughts that have been driving your consistent actions and then look under the hood of all of that and figure out the core beliefs that have been in control the whole time. And it is so important to note here that it is not your fault, your beliefs, your results, your circumstances. None of this is your fault at all. Our core beliefs are programmed before we are even seven years old because that is when we are still, we are literally living in our subconscious mind. We are so impressionable. And it is just how the brain works. It looks for proof of things that we have instilled as beliefs, for better or worse. And this is what I do with everybody I help, whether they come to me to have less toxic relationships, to grow their finances, or to lose weight and feel more light and confident in their bodies. I help myself and other people rewire the core beliefs that were formed from limitation and turn them into beliefs of possibility and empowerment so that we can create more of what we do want in our lives. We can action ourselves until we turn blue. But if our beliefs and thoughts are not in alignment to the identity of the person who is rich, healthy, andor in a loving relationship, then we will spin out in a hamster wheel, wondering why we keep having the same obstacles over and over again and not getting what we want in life and not feeling how we want to feel. Sometimes, and this was true for me and still is to a degree, we need to stop adding more actions, more things to do, putting more things more and more things on our plate because we think that's what's gonna get us what we want, and instead go within and do the inner work. And I'm I am really good at just actioning myself without doing the inner work. So if I'm at a place where I've taken so much action and I do not have the results I want, that's a really good indicator that Crystal, it's time to go within what beliefs are still taking hold that need to be reframed. We can go or we're outer work though. I want to touch on that again. Like we can we can download a dating app and just date a ton

Inner Work Over More Action

SPEAKER_00

of people until we find someone who's lovely and someone who's worthy, and just go on endless diets and not lose weight for good. Like we can do all of these actions, or we can go within, uncover the belief, maybe if it has to do with dating, that I am not good enough, rewrite and rewire that belief to I am enough, I am more than enough for all these XYZ reasons. And instead of having to go on 10,000 dates this year, align yourself to quickly and naturally meet somebody who will treat you amazing because you are coming to the situation as I am enough, I am more than enough, and anybody is lucky to have me as a partner, and therefore they read your energy as you are enough, and they are lucky to be with you, and they will do things to further prove that amazing belief to you, such as shower you with love, affection, and acts of service. People, situations, the world can only meet us where we are with ourselves. If we are not respecting ourselves, for example, like you will see in my story number two next episode, then other people cannot respect us either. That is because of the I'll go into this in a different, whole different episode, but we are made of light, we are made of energy, we actually have an electromagnetic field that is radiating off of our body, and that includes our thoughts and our beliefs and the actions we take, and all of those things we think about ourselves and how we treat ourselves. That is the script in our field that is going out to the world, and other people have to pick up that script, and that is how they treat us. So become aware of your persistent and automatic thoughts and nail down the beliefs that are giving you those thoughts, and you will soon see how this concept has the power to change your life in remarkable ways. I imagine that if you've found this podcast, this information probably isn't completely new to you. But if it is, then that is amazing because if you implement these teachings, your life is going to become so freaking magical. Just

watch. And if you want help with this, feel free to reach out to me at crystal at crystalward.com. That's K-R-Y-S-T-A-L, or on Instagram at crystal underscore baller. I would love to hear from you and help you on your journey. And if this information isn't totally new to you, or even if it is, because why not change your life starting today? Look at which awesome results in your life you have created that you can give yourself credit for and challenge yourself to see if you can pinpoint the solid belief that got you those results. And on the contrary, which results in your life, which area do you feel you wish you could tweak? See if you can pinpoint some automatic thoughts in the area of life you want the biggest shift in, and then go deeper and see if you can uncover the main core belief that has been holding you back. And spend a few days on this if the answers don't come right away. Doing this work has the power to give you a major life shift. So I really encourage you to spend some time going within, or as I like to say, under the hood into your subconscious mind. Again, please do not hesitate to reach out. This is the kind of work that changes lives. That is what I'm here to do. And when we change our lives, the ripple effect, we change other people's lives around us and we change the world. Next week, I will go into story number two that shaped me into becoming the person I am today. And I will be talking about how my party girl, Rock Bottom, quite literally catapulted me into the highly productive human that I am and double business owner. I look forward to talking with you then.
